Tetrahydrofurofurano Lignan
(-)-Asarinin is a tetrahydrofurofurano lignan that primarily targets cancer cell apoptosis. It exerts multiple biological activities including the induction of reactive oxygen species accumulation in mitochondria and inhibition of the STAT3 signaling pathway, resulting in apoptosis in precancerous cells. Additionally, (-)-Asarinin acts as a Src family kinase inhibitor, suppressing mast cell activation. Its diverse pharmacological profile also includes anti-tumor, anti-viral, anti-allergic, and anti-tuberculous effects, making it a valuable reagent for cancer research and related studies.
