AV-153

Antimutagenic

AV-153 is a 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) derivative that functions as an antimutagenic agent. It intercalates into DNA, facilitating the reduction of single-strand breaks and enhancing DNA repair mechanisms in human cells in vitro. By interacting with thymine and cytosine, AV-153 also influences poly(ADP)ribosylation. Additionally, this compound exhibits notable anti-cancer activities, making it valuable for research in cancer biology and DNA repair mechanisms.
