AY 25674
Antiallergic Agent
AY 25674 is an orally active antiallergic agent that functions as a phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitor. It effectively inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells, thus suppressing passive anaphylaxis induced by reaginic (IgE) antibodies. Notably, AY 25674 does not affect increased vascular permeability associated with non-reaginic antibodies, serotonin, or histamine. This compound is valuable for research focused on passive anaphylaxis and related allergic responses.
