Azaspirene

Angiogenesis Inhibitor

Azaspirene is an angiogenesis inhibitor primarily targeting Raf-1 activation. Isolated from the fungus Neosartorya sp., it effectively inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-induced migration of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) while not affecting the activation of VEGF receptor 2 (KDR/FLK-1). This compound is valuable for research focused on angiogenesis and vascular biology, offering insights into pathways modulated by Raf-1 and their role in endothelial cell behavior.
