AZD3409
Prenyl Inhibitor
AZD3409 is a selective prenyl inhibitor targeting both farnesyl transferase and geranylgeranyl transferase I. This compound demonstrates significant anti-proliferative activity in breast cancer cell lines, achieving IC50 values of 220 nM in MDA-MB-468, 180 nM in MDA-MB-361, and 290 nM in SK-Br-3 cells. AZD3409 effectively reduces AKT activation and induces cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase in MDA-MB-468 cells and G2/M phase in MDA-MB-361 cells, making it a valuable tool for breast cancer research.
