Azosemide

NKCC1 Inhibitor

Azosemide is a sulfonamide loop diuretic that functions as a potent inhibitor of the sodium-potassium-2 chloride cotransporter 1 (NKCC1), exhibiting IC50 values of 0.246 μM for hNKCC1A and 0.197 μM for NKCC1B. This compound is primarily utilized in research on fluid balance and electrolyte homeostasis, as well as studies investigating the role of NKCC1 in various physiological and pathological conditions. Azosemide's specificity makes it a valuable tool for studying diuretic mechanisms and potential therapeutic applications in related diseases.
