EcGUS Covalent Allosteric Inhibitor

β-Glucuronidase-IN-3 is a covalent allosteric inhibitor specifically targeting Escherichia coli β-glucuronidase (EcGUS), with a potent inhibitory activity represented by an IC50 value of 12.9 nM. This compound functions by reversibly covalently modifying critical cysteine residues (Cys28, Cys443, and Cys197) within the EcGUS enzyme. β-Glucuronidase-IN-3 is particularly valuable in the investigation of intestinal microbiota-related diseases and may help mitigate the toxic side effects associated with treatments such as Irinotecan and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
