Bax activator-2

BAX Activator

Bax activator-2 is a pro-apoptotic compound that specifically targets BAX, exhibiting an IC50 of 0.30 μmol/L against human BAX. This compound binds to the trigger site of BAX, inducing a conformational change that leads to mitochondrial depolarization, cytochrome c release, and subsequent activation of caspase-3/9, culminating in apoptosis. Bax activator-2 has demonstrated cytotoxic effects across various cancer cell lines while showing decreased toxicity in BAX-knockout A549 cells and minimal impact on non-cancerous cells. This reagent is valuable for research in acute myeloid leukemia and other solid tumors.
