BB2-50F

M. tuberculosis Inhbitor

BB2-50F is a selective inhibitor of succinate dehydrogenase and F1Fo-ATP synthase, primarily targeting Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This compound induces reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to a reduction in succinate oxidation and diminished tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle activity. BB2-50F demonstrates significant antimicrobial efficacy, inhibiting the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv and its auxotrophic derivative mc26230 (ΔRD1, ΔpanCD) with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 8 μM. It serves as a valuable tool in research focused on tuberculosis and the metabolic pathways of mycobacteria.
