Bilirubin oxidase
Multi-Copper Oxidase
Bilirubin oxidase is a multi-copper oxidase that catalyzes the oxidation of bilirubin to biliverdin while reducing molecular oxygen to water. This enzyme plays a significant role in the metabolism of porphyrins and chlorophyll derivatives.
