BKI 1708

CDPK1 Inhibitor

BKI 1708 is a potent and orally bioavailable inhibitor of calcium-dependent protein kinase 1 (CDPK1), exhibiting an IC50 of 0.7 nM. This compound demonstrates significant antiprotozoal activity against Neospora, with an IC50 of 481 nM, and Toxoplasma, with an IC50 of 122 nM. BKI 1708 promotes the formation of multinucleated complexes and effectively inhibits vertical transmission of both parasites, leading to increased pup survival in mouse models. It is a valuable tool for studying CDPK1 functions and the pathology of related diseases.
