BPU17

EMT Inhibitor, PHB1 Activator

BPU17 is an EMT inhibitor and PHB1 activator that disrupts the interaction between PHB1 and PHB2, leading to mild mitochondrial dysfunction. This impairment inhibits SRF/CArG-box-dependent transcription, consequently suppressing the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in retinal pigment epithelial cells (RPEs). BPU17 demonstrates antifibrotic properties in vivo and holds potential for research aimed at developing therapeutic strategies for anti-neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD).
