Brocresine

Histidine Decarboxylase Inhibitor

Brocresine is an orally active inhibitor of histidine decarboxylase, thereby preventing the conversion of histidine to histamine. It also acts as an L-amino acid decarboxylase inhibitor, exhibiting both peripheral and central effects. Brocresine has been shown to inhibit the gastric secretory response following the administration of exogenous gastrin, making it a valuable tool for research on gastrointestinal physiology and histamine-related pathways.
