Broussochalcone A
Xanthine Oxidase Inhibitor
Broussochalcone A is a potent xanthine oxidase inhibitor, exhibiting an IC50 of 2.21 μM. It demonstrates significant antioxidant properties, effectively scavenging free radicals and inhibiting iron-induced lipid peroxidation as well as nitric oxide synthesis in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-activated macrophages. Furthermore, Broussochalcone A induces apoptosis in human renal carcinoma cells by elevating reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and activating the FOXO3 signaling pathway, making it a valuable tool for cancer research and oxidative stress studies.
