Buformin

Antidiabetic Agent

Buformin (1-Butylbiguanide) is an effective antidiabetic agent that primarily activates AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). This mechanism reduces hepatic gluconeogenesis and lowers blood glucose production, contributing to its antidiabetic effects. In addition to its role in diabetes management, Buformin exhibits anti-cancer properties, making it relevant for research in oncology, particularly in studies of cervical and breast cancer.
