Busulfan-d8 is a deuterium-labeled derivative of Busulfan, an effective alkylating antineoplastic agent. It primarily exerts its biological activity by cross-linking DNA and proteins, leading to DNA damage and subsequent induction of apoptosis. Furthermore, Busulfan inhibits thioredoxin reductase, contributing to its immunosuppressive and myeloablative properties.
