Butriptyline

Antidepressant Agent

Butriptyline is an orally active tricyclic antidepressant that primarily enhances central serotonin (5-HT) activity without significantly inhibiting norepinephrine uptake. This selective modulation of neurotransmitter systems may provide insights into the treatment of depressive disorders. Butriptyline is suitable for research applications focusing on the neurochemical mechanisms of antidepressant action and the development of novel therapeutic strategies for depression.
