Butyrolactone Ia

NO Inhibitor

Butyrolactone Ia is a selective inhibitor of nitric oxide (NO) production, exhibiting an IC50 of 18 μM. This compound effectively inhibits lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced mRNA expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and the pro-inflammatory cytokine interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β). Additionally, Butyrolactone Ia has been shown to modulate autophagy in HeLa cells and possesses immunosuppressive properties, making it a valuable tool for research into inflammation and immune response regulation.
