Caesappanin C

Proliferation Inducer

Caesappanin C, a biphenyl dimer derived from the ethanolic extract of Caesalpinia sappan L. heartwood, acts as a potent proliferation inducer. This compound demonstrates significant activity in promoting the proliferation of primary osteoblastic cells in vitro, suggesting its potential for stimulating bone formation and regeneration. Additionally, Caesappanin C effectively deactivates HSV particles by binding to the surface glycoprotein B (gB), thereby inhibiting membrane fusion, making it valuable for research in virology and bone-related studies.
