PECAM-1
CD31, also known as PECAM-1, is a key endothelial cell-specific receptor that functions as an adhesion molecule and mediates interactions with immune cells. It plays a critical role in linking mechanical stress, metabolism, and inflammation, making it integral to various physiological processes. The CD31 peptide has been shown to sustain phosphorylation of the CD31 ITIM686 and SHP2, inhibiting T-cell receptor-induced T-cell activation. This activity positions CD31 as a valuable target for research into endothelial function, inflammation, and immune responses.
