Amyloid-β aggregation inhibitor

Chalcones A-N-5 is a trihydroxy chalcone derivative that functions as an amyloid-β aggregation inhibitor. This compound demonstrates a significant capacity to promote cell proliferation without cytotoxicity at concentrations below 100 µM (IC50 > 1 mM). In addition to supporting neuronal growth in damaged brain tissue, Chalcones A-N-5 inhibits ferroptosis induced by RSL or erastin and decreases lipid peroxidation associated with Aβ1-42 protein aggregation. As a promising molecular scaffold, Chalcones A-N-5 serves as a potential lead compound for further research in Alzheimer's disease.
