Chebulic acid

Antioxidant Agent

Chebulic acid is a phenolic acid derived from Terminalia chebula, primarily functioning as an antioxidant agent. It exhibits strong antioxidant activity by disrupting protein cross-links caused by advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and inhibiting their formation. This compound demonstrates potential in mitigating elevated metabolic parameters, oxidative stress, and liver damage, thereby offering possible therapeutic benefits in conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and liver protection.
