Chlorogenic acid butyl ester

Melanogenesis Inhibitor

Chlorogenic acid butyl ester functions primarily as a melanogenesis inhibitor, targeting critical components in melanin production. It effectively suppresses the expression of microphtalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF), as well as key enzymes involved in melanogenesis, including tyrosinase and tyrosinase-related proteins 1 and 2 (TRP-1 and TRP-2). Additionally, chlorogenic acid butyl ester exhibits antioxidant properties, making it valuable for research in skin pigmentation and oxidative stress studies.
