Chloroxoquinoline

Anticancer Agent

Chloroxoquinoline is an anticancer agent that primarily targets DNA within cancer cells, leading to DNA strand breaks and subsequent cell death. It inhibits cell invasion by downregulating the Rho/Rho kinase signaling pathway, thereby exhibiting broad-spectrum anticancer activity against various malignancies, including non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC), breast cancer, and gastric cancer. Additionally, Chloroxoquinoline has been shown to enhance the radiation sensitivity of Lewis lung cancer cells and xenograft tumors in tumor-bearing mouse models. However, prolonged exposure in rat models may reduce its efficacy due to auto-induction effects on CYP1A and CYP3A enzymes.
