Chrolactomycin

Anticancer Agent

Chrolactomycin is an anticancer agent derived from the Streptomyces sp. 569N-3 strain, exhibiting potent cytotoxicity against various cancer cell lines. It displays IC50 values of 1.2 μM for ACHN, 1.6 μM for A431, 0.69 μM for McF-7, and 0.45 μM for T24 cells, highlighting its effectiveness in inhibiting tumor cell proliferation. In addition to its anticancer properties, Chrolactomycin exhibits selective antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) range of 5.2-10.4 μg/mL, making it a valuable compound for both cancer and microbiological research applications.
