Cilazaprilat

Angiotensin-converting Enzyme (ACE)

Cilazaprilat is a potent angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, with an IC50 of 0.7 nM for the rat enzyme. It serves as the active metabolite of Cilazapril and exhibits cardioprotective effects by reducing creatine kinase release in primary neonatal rat cardiac myocytes during ischemia-reperfusion injury at a concentration of 10 μM. Furthermore, cilazaprilat has been shown to enhance coronary blood flow and fractional shortening in canine models experiencing myocardial ischemia due to coronary hypoperfusion. This compound is valuable for research applications related to cardiovascular diseases and ACE inhibition.
