Clitocine

Nonsense Mutations Suppressor

Clitocine is an adenosine nucleoside analog derived from mushrooms that functions as a potent suppressor of nonsense mutations. It is capable of inducing the expression of p53 protein in cells with p53 nonsense mutations, thereby contributing to apoptosis in multidrug-resistant human cancer cells through the targeting of Mcl-1. Clitocine serves as a valuable tool for research applications focusing on cancer biology and the mechanisms of genetic diseases.
