Clomesone
Anticancer Agent
Clomesone (NSC 338947) is an anticancer agent that exhibits antitumor activity primarily through the induction of DNA cross-linking within cellular structures. While it demonstrates biological activity in certain cell lines, Clomesone has shown limited effectiveness against most human colorectal cancer solid tumor cell lines in vitro and lacks significant activity in vivo against mouse tumors. Additionally, its pharmacokinetic profile suggests that it may not achieve therapeutic concentrations at tumor sites, and its use may be associated with bone marrow suppression.
