CMPF
Type 2 Diabetes Marker
CMPF (CarboxymethylphenylFuranone) is an established biomarker for type 2 diabetes, playing a critical role in metabolic research. It targets pancreatic β-cells, leading to impaired mitochondrial function, decreased glucose-induced ATP accumulation, and increased oxidative stress. In vivo studies have demonstrated that CMPF can reverse hepatic lipid accumulation and enhance insulin sensitivity in obese mouse models, providing insights for potential therapeutic approaches to manage type 2 diabetes.
