Conessine dihydrobromide

H3 Receptor Antagonist

Conessine dihydrobromide is a selective antagonist of the histamine H3 receptor, demonstrating significant oral activity and the ability to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. With pKi values of 7.61 and 8.27 for rat and human H3 receptors, respectively, it has applications in studying neurological disorders. Additionally, Conessine dihydrobromide inhibits the multidrug efflux pump system in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, potentially enhancing antibiotic efficacy, and exhibits antimalarial activity. It is also relevant in research focusing on muscle atrophy.
