Coumafuryl

Rodenticide

Coumafuryl is a coumarin-based rodenticide that functions by inhibiting the metabolic cycle of vitamin K. This interference leads to the disruption of protein biosynthesis for vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors II, VII, IX, and X in the liver. Its primary biological activity is the induction of coagulopathy in target organisms, making it effective for pest control applications in rodent populations. Coumafuryl is utilized in toxicological and pharmacological research to study the mechanisms of anticoagulation and rodenticide efficacy.
