Cre recombinase
Resolvase
Cre recombinase is a site-specific resolvase derived from the P1 bacteriophage. It catalyzes the recombination between two loxP DNA sequences, facilitating the conversion of P1 chromosome dimers into monomers prior to cell division. This enzyme is widely employed in genetic engineering and molecular biology for gene manipulation, transgenic organism development, and creating conditional knockout models.
