Cusculine

OROV Endonuclease Inhibitor

Cusculine is a potent endonuclease inhibitor specifically targeting the Oropouche virus (OROV) with an IC50 of 1.4 μM. It effectively disrupts the interaction between OROV endonuclease and viral RNA, potentially hindering protein interactions necessary for replication. By intercalating into double-stranded RNA, a critical intermediate in the viral life cycle, Cusculine demonstrates significant efficacy in inhibiting OROV replication in vitro. This compound is a valuable tool for research into Oropouche fever and related virology studies.
