Cyanostatin B

LAP Inhibitor

Cyanostatin B is a selective inhibitor of leucine aminopeptidase M (LAP), exhibiting an IC50 of 12 ng/mL. This cyanobacterial lipopeptide has been shown to possess weak inhibitory effects on protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), with an IC50 of 130 μg/mL. In biological assays, Cyanostatin B demonstrates cytotoxic and genotoxic properties in human hepatocytes, inhibiting the proliferation of HepG2 cells and inducing DNA single-strand breaks, ultimately leading to genomic instability. Its impactful effects make it a valuable tool in cancer research and studies of genotoxic stress.
