Deacetyltanghinin

Anticancer Agent

Deacetyltanghinin is a selective inhibitor of Na+/K+ ATPase, exerting its effects through non-covalent binding. This compound demonstrates significant anticancer activity by inducing apoptosis in cancer cells, primarily via the activation of the caspase pathway. It is particularly relevant in the study of targeted therapies for malignant tumors, including breast and lung cancer. However, its potential cardiotoxicity necessitates careful consideration in experimental applications.
