Deserpidine hydrochloride

Antihypertensive Agent

Deserpidine hydrochloride is an antihypertensive agent that functions by competitively inhibiting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). This inhibition prevents the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, which is essential for regulating blood pressure. Additionally, Deserpidine hydrochloride can decrease aldosterone secretion induced by angiotensin II from the adrenal cortex, contributing to its effectiveness in managing hypertension. It is suitable for research applications focused on cardiovascular and endocrine therapies.
