Deslanoside
Anti-arrhythmia Drug
Deslanoside is a cardiac glycoside that primarily targets Na-K-ATPase, inhibiting its function and enhancing intracellular sodium and calcium levels. This mechanism leads to improved cardiac contractility and is utilized in the treatment of congestive heart failure and supraventricular arrhythmias, particularly those with reentry mechanisms. Deslanoside is also effective in controlling ventricular rates during chronic atrial fibrillation, making it valuable in cardiovascular research and therapeutics.
