GA3ox Inhibitor

DHGA5, an exo-16,17-Dihydro-gibberellin A5-13-acetate, functions as an inhibitor of GA3β-hydroxylase (OsGA3ox2). This compound demonstrates significant biological activity by inhibiting Arabidopsis root growth with an IC50 of 97 μM and suppressing the elongation of rice second leaf sheath. Additionally, DHGA5 has been shown to alleviate oxidative damage in Arabidopsis seedlings exposed to NaCl salt stress, effectively reducing superoxide anion accumulation. Its unique properties make it a valuable tool for researching gibberellin signaling and stress response mechanisms in plants.
