Dichlorobenzamil

Na/Ca Exchange Inhibitor

Dichlorobenzamil is a potent inhibitor of the Na/Ca exchanger. It significantly reduces 45Ca uptake via reverse Na/Ca exchange in pancreatic islet cells, with an IC50 value of 18 µM. Additionally, Dichlorobenzamil has the capability to block K+ channels as well as voltage-sensitive Ca2+ channels, making it a valuable tool for research on calcium signaling and ion channel dynamics in various biological contexts.
