Didocosahexaenoin

ROS Inducer

Didocosahexaenoin is a diglyceride derivative of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) known to be a reactive oxygen species (ROS) inducer. It significantly disrupts mitochondrial membrane potential, resulting in elevated ROS levels and subsequent apoptosis. Research demonstrates that Didocosahexaenoin exhibits greater cytotoxicity compared to DHA, particularly in human prostate carcinoma cells, making it a valuable tool for studying oxidative stress and apoptosis in cancer research.
