Dihydroconiferyl alcohol

Cell Division Factor

Dihydroconiferyl alcohol is a cell division factor that plays a crucial role in plant growth regulation. Isolated from the American sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus L.), this compound inhibits the degradation of Indole-3-acetic acid, promoting enhanced plant development. Dihydroconiferyl alcohol has been shown to stimulate the growth of soybean and tobacco callus tissue, as well as synergistically enhance Indole-3-acetic acid-induced hypocotyl elongation in cucumber. Its applications are significant in the study of plant development and hormone interactions.
