DL-Poly(lactic acid)

Drug Release Retardant

DL-Poly(lactic acid) is a biodegradable poly(α-hydroxy acid) that functions as a drug release retardant. It serves as a matrix and coating material for controlled drug delivery, degrading into lactic acid monomers that are naturally occurring in carbohydrate metabolism. This property allows for sustained drug release over several weeks, with the rate of release influenced by the surrounding pH environment. DL-Poly(lactic acid) is ideal for applications in drug delivery systems and therapeutic formulations.
