DL-Syringaresinol

Antiphotoaging Drug

DL-Syringaresinol is a lignin known for its role as an antiphotoaging agent. It effectively inhibits UVA-induced upregulation of MMP-1 by disrupting the MAPK/AP-1 signaling pathway in human HaCaT keratinocytes and dermal fibroblasts. This compound demonstrates protective effects against UVA-induced skin aging. Additionally, DL-Syringaresinol shows weak antimycobacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv, highlighting its potential utility in skin biology and tuberculosis research.
