DOTAP methylsulfate

Cationic Lipid

DOTAP methylsulfate is a cationic lipid that facilitates the delivery of nucleic acids into cells. This reagent self-assembles with negatively charged molecules, such as DNA, and enhances cellular uptake through mechanisms of electrostatic interaction and endocytosis. Additionally, DOTAP methylsulfate promotes endosomal membrane fusion, allowing for the efficient release of DNA into the cytoplasm. Its applications are significant in gene therapy, cell transfection, and the development of non-viral vectors for gene delivery.
