Doxorubicinol

Myocardial Function Inhibitor

Doxorubicinol is a potent inhibitor of the cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium pump, leading to inhibition of systolic myocardial function in isolated heart tissue. In addition to its effects on myocardial function, doxorubicinol demonstrates significant anti-tumor activity by inhibiting cancer cell proliferation. Its cardiotoxic properties make it a relevant compound for research into the balance between antineoplastic efficacy and cardiac safety.
