(E) -4-Hydroxycrotonic acid

Ligand For GHB

(E)-4-Hydroxycrotonic acid is a high-affinity ligand for gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) binding sites, exhibiting an inhibitory constant (Ki) value of 1.1 μM. The compound's structural modifications, including the incorporation of diaryl substituents, enhance its binding affinity, achieving Ki values between 0.023 and 0.075 μM. This reagent is valuable for studying GHB receptor interactions and aids in the design of optimized ligands and three-dimensional pharmacophore models for drug development.
