GAT1 Inhibitor
E2730 is a selective noncompetitive inhibitor of the gamma-aminobutyric acid transporter 1 (GAT1). It effectively inhibits GAT1-mediated GABA uptake, leading to increased GABA levels in the environment. This compound demonstrates significant antiepileptic activity in various preclinical models, including psychomotor epilepsy, fragile X syndrome, and Dravet syndrome. E2730 has been shown to exhibit in vivo efficacy at doses ranging from 5 to 300 mg/kg in animal studies, making it a valuable tool for research into GABAergic dysfunction and related neurological disorders.
