Eeyarestatin I

ERAD Inhibitor

Eeyarestatin I is a potent inhibitor of endoplasmic reticulum-associated protein degradation (ERAD), specifically targeting the Sec61 translocon. By disrupting the p97-associated deubiquitinating process (PAD) and inhibiting atx3-dependent deubiquitination, Eeyarestatin I acts at a pre-proteasomal degradation stage. This compound is known to induce cell death through the activation of the pro-apoptotic protein NOXA, demonstrating its potential anticancer activity in various research applications focused on protein quality control and apoptosis.
