Efgartigimod alfa

FcRn Blocker

Efgartigimod alfa is a humanized Fc receptor antagonist that selectively targets the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn). By inhibiting FcRn function, Efgartigimod alfa effectively reduces serum levels of total immunoglobulin G (IgG), including pathogenic autoantibodies, without causing irreversible changes. This compound is primarily utilized in research related to generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) and primary immune thrombocytopenia, providing insights into therapeutic mechanisms for these autoimmune conditions.
