Endosidin-2

EXO70 Inhibitor

Endosidin-2 is a selective inhibitor of the EXO70 subunit within the exocyst complex, interacting with its C-terminal domain to disrupt exocytosis and endosomal recycling. This compound induces abnormal accumulation of auxin transporters, such as PIN2, in the cytoplasm by promoting their degradation in the vacuole and alters Golgi morphology, resulting in atypical vesicular structures. Endosidin-2 is employed in research to investigate membrane trafficking dynamics, including vesicle sorting and polar growth in both plant and mammalian cells.
